"Education is not only a ladder of opportunity, but it is also an investment in our future." - Ed Markey

I believe that all businesses can be actively involved and invested in educating and developing tomorrow’s workforce. I feel very strongly that giving students an opportunity to further their education; that giving them opportunities where they can give their ideas, time, passions, and their creativity to everyone they meet and to all that they do, is especially important in this rapidly changing society. We need to help students achieve their potential in an increasingly complex, interesting and challenging environment by providing resources for those who may not have the financial ability to see their dreams and life goals to fruition.

As businesses, employers, and leaders, it’s in our best interest to invest in and prepare our youth to help ensure our future success. There are several ways we can do this. As an example, I make youth and education a primary focus of our philanthropic, community, and corporate citizenship efforts, by establishing bursaries for Grade 12 students attending Robert Bateman High School and Yale Secondary High School here in Abbotsford. We are proud of the students who endeavor to take the next leap forward into the future and support their efforts to further their education.

Having spent nearly six years traveling and learning through an alternative method, I feel travel is important. For those that may want to explore our globe, and themselves, I also enjoy donating a portion towards travel for recent graduates.
